introduction to Whitcomm
Whitcomm Co-operative Ltd was set up in partnership with West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative Ltd in 2008 to bring its tenants the latest communications technology, direct into their homes.
It is West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative's belief that regeneration should embrace new technologies and enable our local citizens the access to educational resources, job opportunities, health facilities, tenant empowerment and leisure services, in the comfort of their own homes.
We are the first in the UK to develop a community owned company which delivers services using a fibre network.
Whitcomm is actively developing partnerships with local agencies so that together they can deliver high quality, interactive services direct into each customers home.
What is a co-operative
A co-operative is a group of people acting together to meet the common needs and aspirations of its members, sharing ownership and making decisions democratically. Co-operatives are not about making big profits for shareholders, but creating value for customers Ė this is what makes co-operatives unique.
Whitcomm Co-operative was set up to provide broadband and related internet services for itís members at the best price available on the market. Unlike other broadband companies Whitcomm co-operative doesnít charge a premium to make a profit from its members. Any savings Whitcomm can make will be passed onto the customers in lower bills.
